About Alaskan
Alaskan Bandsaw mills started life back in the mid nineties, with a good home market for our products, we embarked towards the design you see today, we now have over 130 units in daily use. Over the years our designs got ever more simple but still keeping their quality and reliability throughout, many other milling systems are very complicated to operate, with lots that can go wrong, with the Alaskan Bandmill, one is free from his.
Being a purely manual affair, the operator gets 100% feedback through the mill as they go, pushing the frame throught the timber is smooth and easy, aided by a set of precise knife edged roller bearings at the mills feet.
Adjustment of height and thickness of lumber, is quick and simple, with the aid of a hand winch, one click on the winch gives you 1/16", we also supply each mill with a visual measuring devise for total accuracy.
Each mill is supplied with a platform/chassis of 20 feet, on this frame comes a full set of log dogs and log clamps as standard. Mills come in a variety of sizes, from our largest at 36" to our Mini Mill capable of cutting a full 18 inches across, which is proving very popular for the mobile crews who can transport them via snow mobiles/sled to their remote parcels.
We can also fit each mill with our unique taper cutting devise, at the flick of a lever the mill turns into a fully operational tapered side board and shingle mill, for traditional lumber pieces, the starting price for our 36" mill is only $4500.00.
